Day 8: A place you’ve been to

There’s a beach right in front of my home back in Washington that has one of the best sunset views. It was previously closed off by the city because there was a considerable amount of construction going on around the area for the past 10 or so years. According to some older residents of the area who have lived there for more than 40 years, it was a local hang out spot for high schoolers way before that. However, as they were building the new golf course and whatnot, they had to clear the  area off.

I used to love coming here on sunny days. The area was fenced off, but towards a slightly forested area on the path, there was a little opening that someone cut away from the wiring. I took advantage of this and took my private beach trips regularly. Soon after though, someone had to be a downer and re-fence that area. But it was no matter – I learned how to climb trees and jump fences. I remember coming down here and just chilling with some friends. It was fun, it was exciting… I mean, we had to jump a fence. Can’t get any more exhilarating than that.

Of course, now they’ve re-opened the beach and built a bridge to it. Not as much fun or privacy, but definitely easier to get to =]
